Why pay the expense of a recruiter?
Using a recruiter can actually save you
more money than it costs. The commitment
of time and resources necessary for a company
to do a search on its own takes away from
the ability to focus on other important
business functions. An experienced recruiter
takes many of those time and resource issues
off your hands. In a typical search, we
may present only 5 or 6 qualified candidates
for consideration. This saves you a significant
amount of time and resources by eliminating
the need to screen, qualify, and interview
a larger pool of potentially unqualified
candidates.
We have an in-house recruiter, so why would we need to use an agency?
A Good Agency works not in competition with
your staff, but as a specialized skilled
service to them. RJS Associates assists
many in-house recruiters by decreasing the
amount of time spent evaluating resumes
and increasing the amount of time spent
with qualified candidates. Since 1983, RJS
Associates has been recruiting candidates,
and in that time, we have built an extensive
database of people who may or may not be
actively seeking employment. We train our
recruiters to tap into the market that is
not actively responding to job postings
or newspaper advertisements. While some
in-house recruiters may have the training
to do this, along with a large network of
candidates, most do not.
Is RJS Associates strictly a permanent (direct-hire) placement firm or temporary staffing firm?
With RJS Associates, we have the
ability to satisfy your employment needs
in any way; temporary, temp to hire, contract
and direct hire. However, RJS Associates
specializes primarily in permanent/direct-hire
placements.
What types of candidates does RJS place?
RJS specializes in the recruitment
and placement of mid-to-senior level administrative,
managerial, and technical professionals
in various industries. Please refer to our
"Areas of Specialization" at the
top of the page.
What if I am not satisfied with the candidates provided by RJS Associates?
Our professional services are offered on
a contingency basis. Unless you decide to
hire a candidate presented to you by our
firm, you are under no obligation to pay
for our services. The ultimate decision
to hire a candidate is yours. RJS Associates
makes every effort to thoroughly understand
the position requirements and the culture
of your company to ensure a strong fit.
We will continue to search on your behalf
until you find a candidate who meets your
needs.
When we hire a candidate through RJS, what is the fee?
This fee is computed as a percentage of
the employee's estimated first year earnings.
For positions paying commissions, bonuses
or other incentives, first year earnings
will include a realistic estimate of such
compensation. This fee is agreed upon prior
to the commencement of the search, so there
will be no surprises for either party when
an offer has been made.
What if the candidate doesn't work out?
Do you offer a guarantee?
RJS Associates extends a 30 day guarantee,
provided the fee is paid within 15 days
of the employee's start date. Upon written
notification, we will endeavor to replace
the candidate at no additional cost.
Is RJS Associates strictly a contingency
search firm? We prefer retained searches…
RJS Associates will tailor our business
to suit your needs. While the majority of
our searches are performed on a contingency
basis, we have conducted several successful
retained searches at the request of our
clients.
Does RJS only work in Connecticut?
RJS Associates is based in Hartford,
Connecticut, but works for clients nationwide.
We have the capability and the resources
to conduct regional or nationwide searches
where you have needs.
We have a search that is highly confidential.
How can RJS help us?
RJS invites all of our clients to
conduct their interviews confidentially
in either of our office locations. Based
on your geographic preference, you may choose
to arrange to conduct your interviews in
our Hartford office. There is no charge
for this service.

give you the option of hiring our candidates
directly or on a temporary basis. RJS Associates
provides private interviewing facilities
for any confidential searches and can assist
you with all of your local and national
