Must have a minimum of an Engineering Degree (Mechanical Engineering preferred), Science related technical degree, ASQ/CQE certificate, or have demonstrated equivalent expertise through experience. Familiarity with software products such as Minitab (or other similar statistical software), Microsoft Excel, Word, & PowerPoint, and the ability to use them effectively for report generation, presentations, and communicating to others the results of product quality investigations. Adept in ISO 9001 standards and familiar with TS16949 requirements. Proficient with standard quality techniques such as root cause analysis, 8D problem solving, and the AIAG procedures including but not limited to PPAP, MSA, and other APQP requirements. Strong technical writing skills. Ability to effectively communicate the results of supplier/customer visits through written trip reports. Communicate effectively and efficiently in all business related matters. Effectively achieve accuracy, timeliness, efficiency and economy of performing assigned projects. Maintain a safe and productive working environment, and may be called upon to perform other assigned duties.

Leader in the fluid power industry in the Greater Hartford area is looking for a talented quality engineer to help plan, implement, and maintain a quality system for the company  and its suppliers that will assure all products and services consistently meet company standards and customer requirements.

Job Description

  • Monitor supplier quality performance and issue corrective action reports as appropriate. Communicate with the supplier in order to follow up on the status of any particular CAR and to ensure its effectiveness, timely response and closure.
  • Communicate Quality Standards to existing and potential new suppliers, and participate in conducting supplier audits with the Supplier Development department.
  • Work in conjunction with manufacturing, engineering, and other departments to investigate root cause and develop robust corrective action plans for customer complaints and internal audit findings.
  • Assist with preventive action, kaizen events, and continual improvement initiatives.
